After my normal 2 hour commute from the 10 to the 405 to the 101 to the 134 I said to myself, “there has to be something more than this.” My name is Laurie and this is my story…ok, that would be a little long so I will just get to the point! While driving past the location where I adopted our two feline children Stinky & Squirt I realized my love for pets was stronger than my love for home furnishings (my previous career).

Now my days are filled with spoiling four legged children, assisting pet parents in finding the best in food and supplies, and giving back to the local shelters and animals in need. Now this is a job I am truly happy to have. Thank you friends and family for your never ending support. I would not be here without you!

Paulina is our full time certified dog and cat groomer receiving her certification from the Nash Academy. The Nash Academy is long renowned for its training of some of the most sought-after and award winning pet care professionals in the world. Paulina is a dog behaviorist and continues to take steps to enhance her profession. 

Yes, she is a wonderful groomer with over 10 years of experience but what sets her apart from the rest is that Paulina takes the time to work with pets that need additional training or are known to have aggressive behavior.  This includes biting.  In less than 3 monthly visits we have seen her make a known fearful biter turn into a loving trusting pet. It is truly wonderful to see such skill, pride and passion in a very important profession.

If you were an animal what would you be and why? A Panther however my favorite animal is… ALL OF THEM! Reptiles included!

What do you want to achieve? To open a shelter and training facility where I have my own pack and reform dogs. I think someone does that now? He has that TV show…LOL!

Katie Barker (no really, that is her last name!) came to us after two years at the Studio City Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. Katie found us in May 2009 and has been a lovely addition to the a la Mutt family. With her love for animals and the desire to develop professional grooming skills, Katie assists your groomer with kindness, patience and skill.

If you were an animal, what would you be? A Lion of course!

Goal: In the immediate future to become a certified groomer. I am in process of writing several screenplays so maybe one day I would like to be a screenwriter.

Thomas, the newest member of our family is a professional and creative dog groomer. For over 10 years Thomas has worked as a veterinary technician. His combined experience in veterinary healthcare takes your grooming experience to a new level. His extensive knowledge is priceless and his experience in client education shows daily with each grooming consultation. We are so happy to welcome Thomas to a’ la Mutt.
